An idling car's exhaust

Resources for Schools:

Clean Air at Schools: Engines Off (CASEO) is a collaboration between federal and local governments, county school districts, regional air quality planners and non-profit organizations in Colorado. The intent of CASEO is to aid in the development of a model program to reduce air toxics exposures at schools in Colorado. CASEO will accomplish this goal through upgrades and retrofits of diesel school buses with improved emissions control technologies, as well as a behavior change program targeted at eliminating idling of light-duty gasoline vehicles.

The CASEO partners include:

  • The Regional Air Quality Council
  • The American Lung Association of Colorado
  • The City and County of Denver, Department of Environmental Health
  • Mother for Clean Air Colorado
  • The US Environmental Protection Agency
